 Wednesday, October 30, 2002I am at home today because later on I will have to go to the social security office for my interview to get my National Insurance number. Since I coulndt sleep any longer after 5:30, I thought I'd best to go and have a shower!! I think my biological clock is still one hour ahead, so it thinks 5:30 is 6:30... ugh... So I decided to write here a bit and check some blogs... and of course write emails cos i've been neglecting them... Elizabeth was right.. mornings are lighter... but 5pm when I leave work is daaaaaaaark!!!!! Yesterday when I was coming back home it was as dark as 10pm...and rainy... UGH! hehhehe...Ok, ok, so you are all tired of me complaining about the rain. But it makes me feel sooo miserable!!!! Puts me in a terrible bad mood. I wonder if the rain makes people depressed here... It ceirtainly makes me feel depressed. it's almost the thing they have in Canada when its winter, and snowy... more people get depressed and the rates of suicide go up... They had all these adverts on tv, big campaings to alert people of the simptoms of the "winter blues" .... Me on the contrary, I loved all the cold and snow. heee heee... I took 2 quizzez:

Weather is being behaving weirdly. It rains, then it gets sunny, then it rains more, then it gets overcast... It's all confuzzled. But life is good, and I am not in a complaining mood today... lol... Oh just saw on discovery animal.... The Tiger Island!! soooooooooooo cuuuuuuuuteeeeee cubs!!!!!!!! Have to find out where it is.... Time to go... Have a great weekend all!

Wednesday, October 23, 2002I am feeling less grumpy today... lol... I am never totally "not grumpy" but my grumpiness is on level 1 today... lol (5 being the high grumpiness level). Finally the social security sent me a letter saying that I have an interview next week. After that I will have a provisory number.... and who knows when I will receive the real NI number.. lol.. Vince got his watch delivered yesterday. He bought it on BId Up TV the auction channel... the watch is worth £142 and he got it for £22!!!!! Amazing.. hehehe. Ohhhhhh Vince's done a Christmas Bilnkie!!! I will put here as soon as I can! It's very cute. Ok, I have to go cook dinner.... Take care all!

Tuesday, October 22, 2002Call it my personal friday the 13th. Everything seemed to upset me today. Well, upset is not quite the right word.. I was more like enraged! I dont know it I said before, but I am answering phone calls now at work... Today it seemed all thick people from the world decided to phone in. If answering telephone calls like that wasnt enough, when i left work it started to rain. Why in heaven (or hell) does it have to rain for days in a row!!!!!! I hate rain. Think I am living in the wrong country! lol! If the rain wasn't enough to put me in a bad mood, the the train certainly did. Every BLOODY day the trains are delayed!!!!!!! Where is the famous british punctuality???? I am very disappointed. I have lived in 3 contries so far, and the public transport in each was different. Toronto wins on all comparisons.. It's got a great subway system, and the buses are fabulous... (comparing to Brazil and England) or at least I think it is now, because I've expericenced the Midlands public transport. Even Brasil, with all the traffic jams, at least the subway flows like magic. AND, inside the trains we have fans to circulate the air if the train is too packed... Here in Birmingham, the trains are always late (I don't know why they bother having a schedule if they are not gonna be on time anyways), there is no air circulation inside the trains, and they seem to have a lack of carriages.... A 3 carriage train packed with ppl like sardines inna can. It's absurd... and it's not even cheap to travel! I got home and told Vince I hated living here. Well, ok it's not that bad, but hey, I havent finished yet! I thought streets in Brazil were bad. I am reviewing my opinion... Now I think England's streets are worse. Why? Because you have this poor weather, that rain for daaaaaaaaays and niiiiiiiiightssssss. So what happens? The roads/streets get all these puddles, making it impossible to walk on the sidewalk without being literally SPLASHED. Aaaaaah, but experienxe is the mother of everything isnt it? That makes me think the many times I've complained about Toronto and Sao Paulo... Now I pay the price of my big mouth.... *sigh* How I long for the snow in Canada and the dry winters in Brazil. Living and learning. Now to get out of that morbid mood....lol Luciana sent me this lovely card!! Thanks Lu!

Also, thanks to my hubby Vince, I got this flick picture script, with every 30 seconds change the dolls I have here on the left side I don't know why my page keeps appearing with errors, but then after a while, it looks lik eit refreshs itself and the errors are gone. According to Vince it might be because of all the javascript I have. I have no idea, so I'm sorry about that. I want to change the looks of the page, but really its so much trouble that I don't really feel enthusiastic about it!! lol!! Ah welllll.. One day... one day.... OOooooh we woke up this morning and it was freezing cold.... and then we looked outside and the cars and roofs and the grass were all white-ish from the frost! yey winter is just around the corner! Friday, October 18, 2002Vince also got a job, as an E-tutor.. pays ok, but its only part time, but he can work from home. I ammmmmm haaaaappy it's friday and that I wont have to do anything!! hehehe.... apart from going to the chiropractos tomorrow morning, nothing else planned... oh, we might go to Hard Rock, but we are not sure yet. Sarah I love Dean Koontz too!!!!!! but I don't think i've read those two that you mentioned! The one I liked best was "False Memory" makes me think twice when the subject is a psychiatrist! lol! This one I am reading now it's a bit weird... I am half way Though it and things haven't happened... But its nice and easy to read, and the reading "moves" it's not one of those boring books that seem endless. And hm U like rain and wind?? You can have all mine.. lol... azza hey hunney, hope everything is ok with you sus and lil Jade.... I haven't been on IRC these days.. too tired... Tuesday, October 15, 2002It's been cold, windy and rainy... It's ok if you are inside and dont need to go out, but its horrible if you need to walk etc... I still haven't heard anything from the interview I went last week... I hope I will receive somehting by tomorrow.... saying yes or no... better than being in "the dark", not knowing if I got it or not. Don't have many news... everyhting is being pretty normal... Oh, we watched "Signs" with Mel Gibson.. weird movie... didn't quite like it... it's a bit too slow too. And I couldnt figure out if the alien was trying to kill his kid or not. I think it wasn't.... but the close up on his (no) fingers says otherwise. Ah well.. I better go cook something then... Bye!

Saturday, October 12, 2002Today is Chilldren's Day in Brazil..., yet another holiday... lol... I think someone told me we have over 30 days off on holidays like this... they are great. in months like Vovember u get 2 bank holidays (2nd and the 15th). Most of them are national holidays. That means all government departments and banks will be closed. My cold is getting worse :-( Well, at least I don't need to call in sick, because I am a good employee and get sick during weekends.... lol! I will post something letter, or tomorrow cos now charmed is on! Bye!

Friday, October 11, 2002I got a cold :-( Thank God it's a mild one (I think). Started last night... bit of sore throat, body aching.... and then this morning I woke up and my throat was reaaaaaaly sore. Had to have a cuppa to make it better. With honey... yum... I went to the chiropractors again last wednesday. He told me he's happy bout the way it's progressing, so I should keep putting the cold pack on my back... the more the merrier. I should go back there on monday. I took the bus to get there last time. It was the first and last. It took me over an hour to get from Birmingham City Centre to Sutton Coldfield! Absurd! Anyways, Vince was like "I told you so" ... and I was like "I will spank you if you say that again" ... lol... No more buses for this girl. I wait for the train anytime. I had my interview on Thursday morning. It was very weird cos the 3 people that were interviweing me were people that I know... lol... 2 team leaders from our section and a lady from HR. I was nervous anyway. There won't be a second interview. They will decide by monday who they are going to hire. Now it's wait and see. Forgot to mention that last saturday we went to a pub called Yard of Ale.... we had lunch there. The food was great! Shame it's a bit too smoky there. My clothes were smelling cigarrets smoke miles away. Yuck. Ok, gotta go, post more tomorrow, with the addy for my new blog.. Nite Nite

Tuesday, October 08, 2002My back feels a little bit better, I am going to the chiropractor again tomorrow, hopefully it will make it better... It's a bit difficult not to stay sit for more than 30 minutes at work. I completely forget.... I only remember when my back starts to complain! Then I go for a walk in the office... hehe... It was so cold today!! It feels like winter more and more.... I soooooo needed to go to Brazil to get all the rest of my clothes!!! I watched the first 2 episodes of the new series of friends. I like them soooooo muchhhhh.... Do you really think this will be the last season? They just started showing charmed without Prue... Yeah I know it's a bit late here, but ah well. I started to like charmed couple of years ago, dunno why, cos I don't like these evil/demons/vampires series. I totally dislike Buffy and Angel... and Star Trek is a loud NO from me. I am here typing with the cold patch on my back... hehehe.... Anyways, I better go now. Take care all!!

Sunday, October 06, 2002Yesterday I went to a chiropractor to check the persistent lower back pain I've been feeling for 2 weeks now. It's a clinic in Sutton Coldfield, so not too far away from home. After many many question and an examination the doctor told me I have the joints of my spine (the lower ones close to the cervics) irritated because they are rubbing against each other. That makes my back ache and get the stiff feeling. I started the treatment on the same day, so he kinda "popped" "cracked" my back. It may sound scary to pop your spine, but it was a kind of relief actually. Also I am doing the cold therapy. Doc told me that for this kind of pain hot water is not good... so not hot baths and stuff. Instead, I bought a pack of a cold gel thingy that you put in the freezer but it doesnt get hard.... and I have to put that cold stuff on to my back for 20 minutes ... It's veeeeery cold. But it seems to make it batter. actually my back is feeling much better overall. Oh, but I can't sit for more than 30 minutes. I have to stand up and walk around for a bit. That was it. Good thing is: no medicines to swallow or anything. I was reading Simone's blog, and like Mike we also had a casual day at work. Actuallly it was Jeans Day for the Jeans for Genes. It was funny to see everyone wearing jeans instead of shirt and ties and all. Today Vince and I went to get some groceries at Tesco, and we got tempeted and bought lovely Terry's Chocolate Orange Segments... yum... Now we are going to lazy around and I will try and make the Brazilian Blog... *sigh*... dunno what design to have.....!! Anyways, I hope you guys are having an excellent sunday. Take care! *hugs*

Friday, October 04, 2002At work, on monday (my birthday) I forgot to mention that we had a power failure (blackout) for some good 30 minutes. After that, the computers in my section wouldn't work so we stayed 30 minutes more chatting around... lol... very pleasurable. On tuesday, at 4PM, we had to evacuate the building because of a bomb threat.... I waited outside for half an hour then I decided to go home. Good thing because they only let people in the building at 6PM!!! No more different things for the rest of the week... apart from broken elevators....lol... I have an interview next week for the place I am temping for.... I decided to apply for a job there cos the place is nice and the team I am working with is great. I found an overcoat I want to buy at Rackhams (House of Fraser), but the building they are in is in a refurbishement, so I went there on thursday and I couldn't find it!!!!!!! Very annoying. Worst thing is that I don't even know the brand of the overcoat.... call it luck... lol.... Ah well. Today we bought a TV stand thingy, and a bed side table.... Now we are waiting for Vince's friend Neil to come around and help Vince with the "put it together" puzzle. We don't have the tools, but Neil does, cos he does that for a living!! No... not making puzzles... ha ha ha... putting wood together... hehehehe...(Thanks for him our bed is stable.. lol). Oh, I adopted a doll at Kelley Erin's Dollz. It's a gorgeous lady in a kimono. I know I am forgetting something....Ah well... I've added some blinkies to the page, but I think this is getting too blinky craze.. lol... So I will definately try and make my Blog in Portuguese so I can add some different blinkies. Nite Nite.....

Anywho, I enjoyed it, and my mom called so I talked to her and to my sis... and of course I talked to Cher (my puppy baby) to ...lol... Awww I miss them.. The London trip doesn't count cos we got a train and it was only like, 1:30h travelling.... hehehe... We are planning to go to Brazil, and I want to take Vince to Rio, and be a tourist in my country too!!
lol... ( I love these smilies... hehe). It's going to be VERY dark when I leave home now.... *sigh*
